We're back from the Podcast Movement Evolutions conference in LA, where we had a bit of an existential crisis. We give you our travelogue, where we ponder rebranding and reframing Sister On! as this project of ours grows and changes, finally finding a mentor, SMART goals, being mansplained to in Ubers, and prioritizing pleasure. If you have a brainwave about a new name for us, we would LOVE to hear from you.
LA Chai Overnight Oats
These overnight oats are inspired by a breakfast Bec and I ate one morning in LA. They sustained us for a long stretch of workshops AND tasted special, making the 7$ price tag (American!) mean a little less when you consider that the ingredients are uber cheap. An economical brekkie with a fancy flavour!
Ingredients to serve 2:
1 cup of large flake rolled oats
1 tbsp of chia seeds OR ground flax seed
1 cup of plant based milk (oat milk will make it really thick, almond milk will be a little less so)
1 tbsp of pre-made chai syrup OR make your own by combining 1/4 tsp each dried cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon and adding to your dried oats
Optional: 1 tbsp of Greek yogurt to help the oat/chia and plant milk mixture to stay combined.
Mix wet and dry together and let sit over night covered in the fridge.
In the morning give a stir to grab any goodness that has sunk to the bottom and then top with homemade granola (recipe incoming!) — enjoy!
