Directing you back to one of our more popular episodes this week: Thought Wasps.
I don’t know what thoughts are being waspy in your head this week. Maybe the uncertainty around Omicron, things left undone in 2021, holiday plans foiled, dreams that continue to stir…
I was struck by one of our very kind Apple Reviews where the reviewer noted that some of what we discuss on this podcast is not necessarily reframable, but they appreciate how we still take a stab at it! Indeed, maybe we are just untangling one wasp from our hair, or spitting it out (see here for that story).
Over a large-ish glass of red wine Nat suggested something we might sit with, post-holiday: What seemingly interminable thoughts might actually prove useful to our health? What nagging thoughts are flying around our heads that we keep swatting away but might be there for our own benefit? What if that wasp thought is NOT trying to sting us but is actually pollinating our lives for future growth? I imagine we could stand to do some worker bee stuff and figure that shit out! New Year Goals, dear friends. We don’t need fly swatters…we need to build a hive — together. #teamsisteron!
To go with the wine, try throwing together Nat’s celery soup! It’s super easy and delish!
Celery Soup
2 onions, diced
3 largish cloves of garlic, minced
1 head of celery, chopped
Good handful of fresh thyme, stripped sprigs
2 bay leaves
1 litre of chicken/vegetable stock
1/4 cup of nutritional yeast
Can of coconut milk
Sauté veg and add stock + bay leaves to simmer
Blend soup with hand mixer to leave a few chunks, then add can of coconut milk. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve with dippers…for example, pitas which I had on hand.
